e-obs UHF Solar Units
e-obs UHF Solar Units
e-obs Battery and Solar UHF units
e-obs constructs highly sophisticated programmable units for deployment on birds, mammals and bats.
- Sophisticated sampling schedules allow delayed start (for many days), and activity-driven sampling regimes.
- Units can responsively sample location and movement.
- Direct transmission to hand-held receivers.
- Large range of options for size, weight, material, and functions.
A range of solar powered options, and battery options, are available for tracking birds, bats, and other animals using units that are attached with glue, leg-bands, and harnesses. These systems download data directly to hand-held receiver systems that link to your computer. Additional sensors (e.g. 3-axis accelerometers) can be integrated, such that animal activity can then determine sampling regimes. These units also feature burst options that yield rapid sequential sampling to determine movement trajectory and speed, and activity type.
All e-obs units include flexible programming and the full-suite of sensors, so researchers always can access location, movement, activity, and other data.
Further, e-obs units include a "pinger" system, which behaves like an automated VHF system with duty cycles and adjustable frequency ranges.
