GSM-GPS Sensors

  • Send data through telecommunications networks.
  • Collect position, movement, light and other data.
  • High-efficiency acceleration/activity data.
  • Two-way communication enables re-tasking after deployment.

For smaller birds, Ecotone GSM-GPS units (starting at 10g) are the advanced and highly automated.  Each unit is capable of logging many thousands of points, activities, and information for behaviors.  Additional sensors record 3-axis acceleration, light intensity, activity, and temperature.  When the units are within range of telecommunications networks, data are automatically sent from units to you via email, stored in the online control panel, or uploaded to your movebank.org account.  Units also can be reconfigured by users after deployment thorough the online control panel to collect more or fewer data, or to activate optional sensors.

For larger birds, please review additional options in the GPS-GPRS-UHF (click here).
